Miles Todd is the founder and director of 360 Ground Care. His background is 12 years as a qualified green-keeper. After three years as deputy manager, he was appointed Course Manager at the age of 25.
He was also responsible for ensuring high quality playing surfaces for the LGU Ladies home international 2013 at Maesdu Golf Club and the Welsh Youth Open 2015 (international).
Miles wanted to take his expertise and attention to detail into a wider playing field (pun intended!). Since founding 360 Ground Care in 2016, we have gone from strength to strength, expanding both the team and our fleet of specialised ground care equipment.
As a business, we team are always looking for innovation in practices and passionate about promoting sustainable, organic and low environmental impact management; finding the most cost-effective solutions.
Ian Somerville is our Contracts Manager, with a diverse knowledge of ground care and maintenance. He has over 39 years’ experience within the sports turf industry, covering all aspects.
This includes 12 years at the Royal Liverpool Golf Links, Hoylake, holder of the 2006, 2014 and the upcoming 2022 Open Championship. Ian was fortunate enough to be a part of the 2006 BIGGA support team for this prestigious event, the pinnacle of which was accompanying Tiger Woods on his debut at RLGC.
Ian has held the position of Golf Course Manager (over 20 years) at numerous golf clubs across the country. His forte is the renovation of neglected and rundown golf clubs, bringing them back to their former glory.
He was the pitch advisor at Wigan Athletic, a dual sport stadium (rugby league and football). His remit included the removal and returfing of the entire stadium pitch. Along with this was the renovation of the newly acquired training facility at Euxton, Bolton.
Ian has a Masters Degree(MSc) in Sports Surface Technology from Cranfield University, Bedford. His specialist subject and dissertation were in sports drainage, with a keen interest in the benefits of the use of cold pressed seaweed, and their use in the sport turf industry.
Ian has lectured Sport Turf students at Myerscough College, an associate college of UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire). His role included lecturing students studying Level 1 sports turf, foundation degree (FdSc), degree (BSc) and MA sustainable golf course management.
Since taking up his position at 360 Ground Care, Ian has built up a good working relationship with both the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and the Football Association of Wales (FAW), making 360 Ground Care a recognised leader in the renovation of sports pitches and playing surfaces, including golf, rugby, football, cricket, bowls, tennis and horse racing.
Jordan Wynne joined 360 Ground Care in 2018. His as a groundsman before joining us was at some of the world’s top sporting venues, bringing valuable experience and expertise across tennis, football, rugby, cricket and golf.
Before joining us, Jordan worked at Wembley Stadium, preparing the pitch for top level games. He previously worked at Westpac Stadium and Basin Reserve in New Zealand. Westpac is a multi-sports facility and Jordan’s responsibilities included preparing, maintaining and renovating grounds for sports, including rugby, cricket and football, to international level.
Jordan also worked at the Denbeigh Golf Club and the All England Lawn Tennis Club for three years, preparing the grounds to the high standard expected for world class events, particularly the Wimbledon Championships.
Jordan holds an FdSc in sports turf from UClan University/ Myerscough College. Outside work, he is a keen sportsman, playing football, cricket and rugby.
Chris is our Administration Manager. With strong administration and organisational skills with experience in problem solving and IT, Chris ensures that all company accounts and administration are managed in accordance with our BSI certified Integrated Management System, accredited to ISO9001:2015.
Chris has 42 years’ professional and small business experience, encompassing a variety of industries such as eCommerce, IT, retail, hospitality and tourism.
Outside work, Chris enjoys hill walking, socialising with friends and family, and is a member of SVP and Rotary.
